SUSAN GORDON
Global Business Readiness, LLC
Susan Gordon is a Senior Human Resources Consultant, Speaker, Trainer and Facilitator specializing in Diversity and Workforce Readiness. 

Prior to starting her consulting business, Global Business Readiness, LLC, Gordon served as Director of Global Diversity & Inclusion for the Microsoft Corporation. At Microsoft, she partnered with senior executives, HR business partners, affinity groups, external organizations and employees at all levels to design and implement diversity and workforce inclusion strategies, which were focused on achieving measurable results. 

 

Gordon has more than 20 years of strategic HR management experience, including recruitment, retention, talent development, succession planning, law, workforce inclusion, AAP, EEO and employee relations. She was recently appointed the Society of Human Resource Management’s 2010 Diversity Chair for the State of Florida.

 

Before joining Microsoft in 2006, she was assistant vice president of corporate diversity staffing at The TJX Companies Inc., a global retailer with more than 125,000 employees. At TJX, she was responsible for supporting the corporation’s business objectives through the development of leadership recruiting and retention programs.  She also  spent more than a decade at Bank of America, where she worked her way up from human resources management to VP of human resources. As VP of HR, she managed a decentralized staff of 15, designed an award-winning diversity program, and provided strategic talent management counsel to three CEOs and their senior executives. Before becoming VP of HR, she served as vice president of the corporate law office, where she simultaneously served as acting chief privacy officer, and worked with a staff of attorneys, plus senior executives, to develop the banking firm’s privacy policies and procedures.

 

During her last two years with Bank of America, Gordon designed and developed talent assessment strategies for senior executives, led the Corporate Talent Management Advisory Group, and among other duties, provided senior management with counsel on recruitment, leadership development, succession planning and organizational design.

 

Her community service activities have involved a variety of organizations, including the American Red Cross and United Way. Gordon also served on the advisory council for the Linkage Inc. Women in Leadership Summit.

                                                                                          

She holds an undergraduate degree and a Master’s in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston.  She is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the Society for Human Resource Management and has earned a certificate in Human Resources Negotiation Skills from the Harvard University/MIT/TUFTS Program on Negotiation.
