Kate Maxwell has been providing the Greater Eastside and business communities with in-home and in-office information technology, computer support and help desk services for more than six years.
She is a mom who balances work and family needs the same way many of her clients are doing in today's tough economy. She also understands the needs of the novice computer user and is committed to turning confusing computer speak into easily understandable language.
Maxwell also is a proponent of being and staying organized through technology. Many times, she says, people have software or hardware that can make their lives easier or more enjoyable, but aren't aware of its potential. So she delights in showing them its capabilities.
For example, a client of Maxwell's had purchased a media center computer, but wasn’t using it for anything other than e-mail. So she imported the client's CDs and DVDs, arranged her library, and installed an inexpensive tuner, which allowed her to listen to radio on the computer as well as to capture, watch and record live TV. Today, that client is enjoying all of the benefits of having a media center computer -- without the hassle of setting it up and learning how to use all of its features, on her own.
Maxwell's other interests involve remodeling her home in Kenmore, seeing the world through her young daughter’s eyes, and music. She plays the piano, is a rock climber and enjoys participating in other outdoor activities with her family and friends.
